Call for Papers (Closed)    

You are invited to submit a proposal for a workshop, discussion, or presentation on practical strategies for effective international technical communication:

• If your experience includes selecting and managing translation vendors, implementing a content management system to manage text reuse, or managing offshore contractors, consider submitting a proposal on managing multinational communication.

• If you're expert in simplified technical English, writing and designing UI interfaces for international audiences, or developing global corporate style standards, submit a proposal for a practical session on writing, editing, or design.

• Or, if you have suggestions for skills that technical communicators should acquire to compete in the global workplace, prepare a proposal for PCOC 25.

Please send your proposal to pcoc@stc-etc.org by July 14, 2008.

Be sure to include your purpose, your intended audience (managers, editors, writers, web designers), an outline or summary of specific topics you will cover, equipment required, and professional background information about the speaker(s). Include the name, e-mail address, and daytime telephone number of a contact person in case we need to talk with you about your presentation.

Presenters also get a generous discount on registration. Full conference registration for presenters is $200 (compared to $297 for regular attendees) or $135 for a 1-day registration (compared to $165).
